A respect for the past characterizes the accommodations at Deer Lodge; much of the original hand hewn log structure and decor are still in place. Many of the architectural features from the original building have been restored.
The excellent and innovative cuisine in the Mt. Fairview Dining Room receives great reviews. All dishes are artfully presented and professionally served. The wine list is extensive and features many award winning Canadian wines from central British Columbia and the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario, and includes a large selection of hard to find vintners' reserve wines.
The Caribou Lounge, with magnificent views of the Victoria Glacier, is open for lunch and breakfast. Enjoy afternoon tea and light snacks in the original log teahouse.
The rooms are an eclectic mix of historical and modern. Some rooms are newly renovated and modern. The original tower rooms were restored to their original condition under the watchful eye of the Historical Society, complete with original cast iron radiators, woodwork, lighting and brass fixtures. Most rooms do not have a telephone, and none have a television.
