Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer train for a truly unforgettable experience. The Rocky Mountaineer offers a journey of a lifetime. This rail journey is considered to be one of the most beautiful and scenic in the World. This is one adventure that must be experienced to believe. The entire train journey take place during daylight hours to ensure you enjoy every minute of the breathtaking scenery of glacier-fed lakes, majestic mountains ranges and ferocious rivers.

The Rocky Mountaineer runs primarily in the summer months, with departures every two days, but ask about the winter train, a perfect complement to a ski holiday. The train travels in both eastbound and westbound directions between Vancouver, British Columbia, Whistler, British Columbia, and Jasper or Banff and Calgary in Alberta.

The Routes

Kicking Horse Route Vancouver to Banff/Calgary or Calgary/Banff to Vancouver 2 Days / 1 Night Named for the pass over which it crosses the Canadian Rockies, the Kicking Horse Route takes you between Vancouver, British Columbia, and either Banff or Calgary, Alberta. This route traces the historic rail line that united Canada's East and West and includes highlights such as the legendary Spiral Tunnels and the Fraser and Thompson Canyons. Includes an overnight stay in Kamloops.

Yellow Head Route Vancouver to Jasper or Jasper to Vancouver 2 Days / 1 Night This journey takes you between Vancouver, British Columbia, and the picturesque resort town of Jasper, Alberta, along the Yellowhead Route, named for a second pass through the Canadian Rockies. This route is known for scenic valleys, plentiful wildlife including bears, and majestic Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Includes an overnight stay in Kamloops.

Fraser Discovery Route Whistler to Jasper or Jasper to Whistler 2 Days / 1 Night The newest route links the mountain resorts of Whistler, British Columbia, and Jasper, Alberta. The route is named after the mighty Fraser River whose length it follows. Journey through the historic Cariboo Gold Rush region, the lush forests of northern B.C. and the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountain Trench past Mount Robson to Jasper. Experience dramatic changes in climate and scenery from lush farmland to the desert like conditions of the Fraser Canyon. This route carries you through the rarely seen beauty of the North West, the historic gold-rush region of the Cariboo and the Canadian Rockies. Includes an overnight stay in Quesnel.
